Faster organization and tenant switching

The console switcher is quicker to scan: organizations group tenants, avatars stay consistent, and plan badges read at a glance.

From the changelog: Improved organization and tenant switcher

Operators who work across more than one organization spend a lot of time in the console switcher. The control lived in the sidebar, but scanning a long list and seeing which tenant you were about to enter was slower than it needed to be. Branding on the switcher also drifted from what the org actually stored.

The organization and tenant switcher is now faster to navigate and shows branding more consistently.

This is the longer note behind the August 23 changelog entry.

What you get

The sidebar TeamSwitcher still sits in the brand row. What improved is how the list reads:

  • Tenants group under their organization (with a No Organization bucket when needed)
  • Avatars use the org image when present, with a stable color fallback from the org id
  • Plan badges stay visible so you can tell which tenant you are jumping into
  • Search and create/invite actions stay in the same dialog

Switching still changes the active tenant in console session state and routes you to the matching dashboard. It does not migrate users or rewrite environment ids.

Trust boundaries

The switcher only lists organizations and tenants your session can already access. It is a navigation control, not an elevation path. Demo tenants stay marked as such; do not treat a switch as a production deploy.

Try it

Open the switcher, search an org you belong to, and confirm the avatar and plan match Organizations. The original release note is in the changelog.
